who does what at inroads?

  • Piet Venter - Contract Manager
    Piet leads the Contract on behalf of Inroads. He manages the internal resources and finances. Piet is responsible for the operations alliancing group and work suppliers. He also has responsibility for total service delivery to meet the specified performance measures. Relationship management is a responsibility of the key management team with Piet's overview.
  • Dave McDougall - Asset Manager
    Long term strategic planning of Forward Work Programmes in order to achieve Key Performance Measures and Management Performance Measures. Day-to-day management of professional services and advice to clients.
  • Rodney Nicholas - Construction Manager
    Rodney is primarily involved with supervising the construction and capital works projects in the network. He also co-ordinates resealing work programmes, processes financial claims, and undertakes network inspections in response to service requests to meet Operational Performance Measures as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Bryan Crean - Capital Works Manager
    Bryan is responsible for completion of the capital works programme. He provides the link between the design and physical works contractors and ensures projects are constructed to the relevant client specification.
  • Paul Anderson - Senior Engineer
    Paul manages professional services for projects such as WBOPDC seal extensions and NZTA safety improvements. Paul has a significant input into pavement and asphalt design to ensure construction works meet quality and contract requirements. Paul is also responsible for contracts tendered and managed by Inroads on behalf of NZTA.
  • John Herbert - Planning and Road Safety Engineer
    John is responsible for the assessment of planning applications for Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Transit New Zealand from a traffic safety/efficiency viewpoint. John has 51 years of experience in highway and bridge construction, crash reduction studies and safety auditing.
  • Ron Raikes - Data Technician
    Ron manipulates data between various database programmes to facilitate monitoring and reporting on various aspects of the contract. He is the co-ordinator of Road Opening Notices, client approval for anyone wanting to undertake work within the road corridor.
  • Ann-Elise Reynolds - Engineering Cadet
    Ann-Elise has involvement in this contract in investigations of customer service requests and project tasks for road asset management under the Inroads ten year contract
  • Roy Wishart - Resource Manager
    Roy coordinates the daily activities of Inroads labour and plant to ensure both Operational Performance Measures and Key Performance Measures are continually being met.
  • Allan Warner - Sector Representative
    Allan is involved as roading overseer for the eastern zone of the local roads network. Allan does regular inspections to identify defects and programmes the repairs to ensure our roads are kept within contract specification.
  • Reg Gibbs - Maintenance Manager
    Reg is responsible for the implementation of the physical works forward work programme, including seal extensions and widening, rehabilitation and maintenance. He is actively committed to meet both Operational and Key Performance Measures of the contract and, as such, Reg manages Inroads service providers.
  • Bryan Hudson - Professional Services Manager
    Bryan manages the planning and programming of engineering professional services for investigations and designs of construction works. Bryan is also responsible for the safety and corridor management aspects of Inroads work.
  • Anne Michel - Customer Care Manager
    Anne is responsible for PBC customer care. This involves the distribution of network information and communication on a range of issues to road users and stakeholders, representing both clients by delivering a level of service consistent with their own professional goals. Using quality systems and modern technology, customer care provides accurate information in a courteous and friendly manner, striving to continually improve the level of customer satisfaction
  • Alex Taylor - Traffic Management Coordinator
    All Western Bay of Plenty area traffic management plan acceptances. Alex is the coordinator of activities on the western bay network. Alex also does field/site audits on state highways and local roads and provides TTM advice to contractors and consultants. Alex does other network tasks as required.
  • Elke Beca - Systems and Data Engineer
    Elke is involved in designing systems and analysing data to ensure the best technology and innovation is applied to understanding and manipulating data.
  • Craig Russell - RAMM Manager
    Craig is involved in the day to day maintenance and upgrading for the NZ Transport Agency and Council RAMM databases. Craig is involved in submitting the required deliverables to NZTA and Council on a monthly basis and collecting new data as required
  • Deborah Potbury - Communications Co-ordinator
    Deborah is the liaison between customers (road users and ratepayers) and contract partners on all service requests matters. Requests for service must be carried out according to set parameters in the PBC-01 contract with Western Bay of Plenty District Council and NZ Transport Agency and completed in a timely, efficient and professional manner
  • Lee Sands - Contract Administrator
    Lee is responsible for assisting the Contract Manager in administration duties for the Contract. She assists all other team members in any type of administration work necessary.
  • Phil Dunlop - Sector Representative
    Phil is a roading overseer for the western zone of the network. Phil has a great knowledge of these roads with over 20 years experience on this network but in particular the unsealed roads network. Phil conducts regular inspections to identify defects and programmes the repairs to ensure our roads are kept within contract specifications.
  • Drew Williamson - Graduate Civil Engineer
    Drew is a new graduate in 2009. He is involved in delivering road safety improvement projects and crash reduction works. Drew is also responding to customer service requests where engineering input and design is required
